Eiffel of excitement.

Geneva was a bit of a blur so I will give you the 5 second version of our stay there.
  • Gorgeous city
  • Great history of the Reformation
  • Our hostel was far from all the action
  • Really great hamburger place down the street called "Holy Cow"... mmmmmm so good
  • On our last day we took a trip out to Chamonix, France to see some ice caves. We took a picture with a saint bernard inside of the ice caves (he was SO stinking cute). But my favorite part about that excursion was the cafe/bar place we went to after the ice caves. Incredible fries (or pom frites), really nice waiter, and some AWESOME live jazz music outside. Not to mention a delicious cappuccino.
Enjoy the ice caves pictures!

Okay... and now what you all have been waiting for...
That's right... I'm in Paris ya'll!

First night I was here we took a trip up the Le Tour Eiffel and by some strange force, my brain decided to tell the rest of my body to walk up the 674 steps to the second platform of the tower. Let's just say that was two days ago and I am feeling it.

Yesterday we found an antique market that went on for days and I wish I would have stayed longer, but my wallet was happy I left when I did because I would have bought everything I touched if I had the money and space in my luggage.

Tonight, before attending the opera "Les Noces De Figaro" (which I surprisingly really enjoyed), I went to dinner with Corinne, Brooke, and Angela and some snails... yes, that's right, I tried escargot. The sauce was fan-flipping-tastic but the second I bit into the snail meat, I could feel that it was snail and swallowed it whole because I couldn't convince myself that it was normal to eat a snail. It was at some hole-in-the-wall restaurant down the street from our hotel. I love the hole-in-the-wall restaurants because they just have such a European feel. the people are nice, you take your time eating, they care to know who you are and what you are doing in their country. They sincerely invite you back the next night or before you leave. It was great.

I am thoroughly enjoying Paris, as expected, and I am discovering how much I love city life. I love the hustle and bustle of public transportation and walking past millions of people you don't know. I love people watching and trying to figure out people's stories as they walk by. Where are they coming from? Where are they heading? What is life like for them right now? I love the simplicity in such a big world that you can find unexpectedly in a city. Having the most adorable interaction with a woman and her baby on the metro, picking up something someone dropped, someone holding the door open for you when I am sure they are just as busy as you. I love seeing Jesus in people who don't even know He is there, using them in the little things.

I mean, that is why I called my blog "every last detail." It's because it's in every last detail of life that you find Jesus. Not just in the big picture, but in the small things, the things most people overlook, the details.

Below are some select few pictures of the Eiffel Tower out of the 239482093840298 that I took.

Have I left you hanging?

So remember when I said I would be doing something that required me to call my mom after I did it? Well I called her. Don't worry. I am sure that's what you were waiting to hear.

On a side note, I went paragliding yesterday.
It was magical. Pretty much like watching planet earth, but it was real life.

It was a surreal experience because one moment your guide (mine's name was Thomas) tells you to start running and then the next minute your feet are not longer running on ground and he tells you to sit and then you are flying. It was crazy. Seriously. I recommend it to everyone. I would kill to learn how to to paraglide by myself, but I think my mother would kill me before she let some chute I was controlling kill me.  Here are a few pictures of the beautiful view I got to see!

Thomas... he was the best.

Can't wait to go again sometime!!!

Oh, oh Switzerland, you've taken away my breath now once again

Title is from this song--> Click here.
Yes, this is real life. This picture was not stolen off of a website nor did I take a picture of a postcard. Believe it or not, I took this picture with my own two hands.

A group of us took a beautiful hike up to the tallest point in Europe.. or to the spot that you can take a train up to the tallest point, but that 45 minute train ride cost 116 Swiss Francs... so no to that one. But nonetheless it was still GORGEOUS as you can see and incredible weather. I was so blessed to embark on this incredible adventure with some great friends.
Interlaken has been a great break from school and the go, go, go that traveling and visiting museums brings (I do love that, but a break is nice). Tomorrow, I am doing pretty exciting. Let's just say, my mom told me I have to message her to tell her I am safe...

But I am not telling what it is hehehe.

Also, if any of you were wondering what it is like to skype my parents...
this is a pretty accurate depiction.

Do, Re, Me likey Salzburg.

Salzburg, Austria. What a city this has been. I fulfilled a life-long dream of mine my mothers to go on the Sound of Music tour and see the sites where the movie was filmed. Here are a few quick snapshots!

Some old man from New York who was a photographer offered to take our picture and set us up like this... He pretty much told Angela to stand behind me because it was uneven with seven people.. you can see us laughing in back

On the train ride to Salzburg Michael got tired so I let him borrow my blow up neck pillow. In turn, I snapped a shot of the cover of the newest Disney Princess movie... "Princess Mike" not to be mistaken for the original movie "Prison Mike" from The Office.

We are off to Interlaken, Switzerland tomorrow morning for a bit of a break weekend during which I will be hiking up to the top of the highest point in Switzerland in the Alps... expect some be-a-U-ti-ful photos!!!
