And as I was thinking, I kept reading over her little blurb she sent me and the last three words really caught my attention...
every last detail.
I kept thinking about why these words had such a hold on me and then I remembered a sermon my high school pastor gave about two years ago. He started off by talking about the clock in the back of the room on the "tech table" as I am going to call it. He asked if anyone had noticed that it is always set to 12:30 and never changed. To be honest, I never had. I had been going there for almost a year and a half and I had never noticed that small, minor, teeny-tiny detail in the room; a detail that had so much more meaning than I had ever known.
He went on to tell a few anecdotes and probably mentioned a few really great points all of which I can't remember for the life of me... except one: that clock in the back of the room wasn't set to a certain time so all of us high school kids wouldn't get antsy and keep looking to see when church was over so we could eat doughnuts and be social like high school kids do. No. That clock was set to 12:30 to remind my pastor daily of the verse Mark 12:30:
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul
and with all your mind and with all your strength."
That seems to me like every aspect of my life should be focused on the One who gave me life.
I am so blessed with what I have and I can't wait to show that in every last detail.
